Developers doing a 180, and fast...

So for those who care, and those that haven't heard, Battlefront 2...ahem, EA Battlefront 2 has finally ditched the shitty loot box progression system! It was about a week ago, but yes! It's TRUE! It's about 5 months a bit late, but they did finally do it. I wasn't going to speak much about it, seeing as I didn't want to give too much attention to something that should never had happened, but today it was announced that Shadow of War is now also ditching it's ridiculous loot boxes, 6 months after release. Now with Battlefront, they didn't get to make much money, seeing as they turned off M/T until later this month for "Cosmetic only" loot boxes, but SoW has done a fantastic job of fucking it's entire game up, and banking on it too, to try and save a little face, and look like a good guy in all of this. Now I won't attack the devs, seeing as I can't see them wanting to sink the game they worked so damn hard on, that should have been everything, if not better than what we got with the first, Shadow of Mordor. But WB is definitely the one we should point the finger at. Apparently they got enough money to make themselves happy, now the devs can be devs again I suppose. The reason why this is so bothering, is because I boycotted SoW because of M/T Orcs, but I didn't boycott EASWBF2. I mean, maybe I should have, but I had my preorder in months prior, and I rarely preorder anything nowadays. I avoided the first game too, and I wanted to see how much the M/T really fucked the game up, and to most of you, I told you, it royally fucked it. The game felt unbalanced still, even after taking out the ability to get crystals, for one simple reason, progression was STILL a giant slot machine. If you were lucky, you got a couple of nice boxes with some uncommons and rares, and you were able to level up fast with certain characters, even if they weren't the ones you even fucking played with. So some people had an assault at fucking 30+ a month into the game, while mine was at 17. I know SoW suffered, because the whole point of the first was the relationships, and the back and forths with both your allies and enemies and through the nemesis system, which was brilliant. However, when you are acquiring things through random loot, it isn't the same. The stories aren't there anymore, it takes away from dynamic storytelling. Which go figure, both dev teams have admitted that basically that's what has happened with both games, and both loot box systems. Bloody fucking Hell.
So what does this mean for us? Well I'll tell you, it means that we need to keep pushing back, buying even less copies, and standing up for even less bullshit than this. I took a pretty hard stance last year, every game that had ludicrous loot box systems implemented, I stayed away from besides EASWBF2. While yes, it is ever so slightly "noble" for companies to do this, the reality is, they could have just NOT done it in the first place, and we need to do more to make sure they know this years out from development. I'm tired of the Madden games getting just a little bit more with every other mode NOT named ULTIMATE TEAM. I'm tired of our sequels getting fucked over by trying to cash in on every single last penny we have. When there are great games that just came out, without the bullshit like Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, and Far Cry 5. Great games like have BEEN out like Warframe that show you can make games, without the BS. If anyone tells you that bitching enough about something, won't ever get it changed, just use these two games as an example of how fast companies can backtrack and distance themselves from something toxic, and hated by it's playerbase worldwide.
